Balayage is a type of hair coloring technique that creates natural-looking highlights. The name, Balayage, comes from the French word meaning to sweep or to paint.

It is a coloring technique that involves hand-painting highlights onto the hair in a sweeping motion, creating a more natural, sun-kissed look with depth and dimension. While the application and results are great for most hair, we recommend you have a consultation with your Deco Blue stylist before your appointment.

Ombre is a technique used to gradually blend one color hue with another. Usually, a dark root gradually blends out towards the lighter ends of your hair.

While the results look amazing, we recommend you have a consultation with your Deco Blue stylist before your appointment.

Ombre and balayage are both hair coloring techniques that create a gradient effect, but they differ in the way they are applied and the overall result they create.

Ombre hair color typically involves a darker shade at the roots that gradually fades into a lighter shade towards the ends of the hair. This creates a dramatic contrast between the two colors, with a distinct line where the color changes. The ombre technique can be done with a variety of color combinations, from natural-looking brown to blonde, to bold and bright hues.

Balayage highlights are typically concentrated towards the ends of the hair, and the overall effect is softer and more blended than ombre. The technique can be used to achieve a variety of looks, from subtle highlights to bolder, more dramatic effects.

The main difference between ombre and balayage can be seen in the result. Ombre hair color creates a more distinct line between two contrasting colors, while balayage highlights create a softer, more natural-looking gradient.

One of the main differences between getting a base color and an all-over color is where the hair is colored.

With base color, the color is applied to the hair’s roots to hide gray hair or give the hair a new base color. It is typically applied only to the roots and is often a different color than the rest of your hair.

All-over color is applied to the entire head of hair, from the roots to the ends. This helps to create a uniform color throughout and is typically used to change the hair color completely or to refresh an existing color.

The choice between getting a base color and an all-over color depends on your desired look and maintenance preferences.
